ABOUT JASON

Based in New York City, Jason has choreographed over 20 productions worldwide. After launching his career with The Walt Disney Company, he performed as Tumblebrutus in over 800 performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS (across the US, Canada, Columbia, Costa Rica, Panama, and Venezuela) and Disney's Beauty and the Beast (as Carpet). His notable appearances in Film/TV include The Wolf of Wall Street, Pan Am (ABC), Dance Moms (Lifetime), The Amazing Spiderman 2, The Normal Heart (HBO), and Judy Garland: Too Young To Die on Netflix.

 

Favorite choreographic achievements include Anything Goes with Andrea McArdle and Sally Struthers at Gateway Playhouse and Ogunquit Playhouse, Mamma Mia! at ACT of Connecticut, Judy Garland's 100th Birthday Celebration and Ryan Raftery's The Obsession of Calvin Klein, both at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater in New York. Other highlights include Bayside: The Saved By The Bell Musical (New York Times Critics Pick), starring original TV cast members Dennis Haskins, Ed Alonzo, and the late Dustin Diamond, Showgirls: The Musical (XL Nightclub at the Out Hotel), the World Premiere of The Wolf at Theater Raleigh, Full House: The Musical starring Perez Hilton (Toronto World Premkere and off-Broadway), Cole Escola’s Thicker Than Water (Ars Nova), and American Showstoppers: Irving Berlin, where he staged musical numbers for Brent Barrett, Lee Roy Reams, David Elder, and Karen Ziemba. Additionally, Jason served as the Associate Choreographer to Tony Award Winner Donna McKechnie on the National Tour of 4 GIRLS 4, starring Faith Prince, Leslie Uggams, Andrea McArdle, Maureen McGovern, and Christine Andreas.

 

In 2013, Jason held the position of Resident Choreographer at Ellen's Stardust Diner, home to New York's world-famous singing waitstaff. More recently, he developed The Peter Gennaro Project in collaboration with the Manhattan School Of Music, skillfully recreating four iconic television numbers by Peter Gennaro, additionally reconstructing Peter Gennaro’s ‘Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer’ for Debbie Wileman’s We Need A Little Christmas at Carnegie Hall.

 

Jason has shared his expertise as Faculty and/or Guest Faculty at institutions such as Broadway Dance Center, The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts, The American Musical & Dramatic Academy, The Joffrey Ballet School, The National Ballet School, Peridance Capezio Center, CAP 21, and Jacob's Pillow in The Berkshires, at the invitation of Chet Walker. He is a proud alumnus of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (New York), and both French Woods Festival for the Performing Arts and Stagedoor Manor, where he spent the best summers of his life.
